Bi-Rite Creamery is committed to creating ice cream in a responsible and sustainable manner. We are proud to be the first ice cream shop in San Francisco to use Straus Family Farms organic dairy to create our ice cream. We strive to create unique and exciting flavors that are made with local, organic or sustainable products.
Straus Family Creamery, only 45 miles away, supplies all of our organic milk, cream and eggs used in the making of our ice cream. Our flavors rarely have more than 5 ingredients, no stabilizers, and nothing artificial. We make many of our own mix-ins to guarantee exceptional flavor and texture.
Our Coffee Toffee ice cream is made with coffee from our local Ritual Coffee Roasters and almond toffee that we make here in our shop. Our Honey Lavender is created with organic dried lavender and honey that is gathered on Mint Hill, less than a mile away. Our Rocky Road is made with house made marshmallows and house made chocolate covered almonds. Our Roasted Banana is created by roasting organic bananas with brown sugar until tender and caramelized.
All of the granitas, sorbets and popsicles we make are made from fruits that are sourced from local organic farms and orchards. Our concord grape granita and popsicles are made from grapes grown on our own farm in Sonoma.
Not only do we care deeply about our ingredients, we also care about the impact we have on our environment. We use cups and spoons that are biodegradable, our sugar cones are made from organic ingredients, and we source our ingredients as locally as we can. Our tastes are served on metal spoons that don't create waste. In doing so we save over 500,000 plastic spoons from filling our landfill every year.
